Notice

Given the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, with some Middle Eastern countries closing their airspace, the Ministry of Public Security is facilitating the extension of temporary residence for foreigners unable to return home due to the war. Foreign nationals are requested to apply for an extension through the agency, organization, or individual who invited or sponsored them, or directly (in the case of visa-exempt entry or using an e-visa), at the Immigration Department or the Immigration Management Division of the Provincial/City Public Security Department, paying the prescribed fee. The application for an extension must include a request from the representative agency of the foreign national's country of citizenship.

Citizens of countries in the war zone are granted extensions of temporary residence for no more than 30 days at a time until a flight back home is available.

Citizens of countries not in the war zone but unable to return home due to connecting flights through airports in Middle Eastern countries or through Middle Eastern airspace are also granted a 30-day extension and must purchase a different flight to return home. Foreign nationals who fail to renew their temporary residence permits as per the above policy, resulting in their temporary residence permit expiring, will be subject to penalties as prescribed./.
