1. What is a Temporary Residence Card?
A Temporary Residence Card (TRC) is a document issued by the Immigration Department or a competent authority under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, granting foreigners the right to reside in Vietnam for a specified period. This card is valid as a substitute for a visa.

Note:

3. Conditions for granting temporary residence cards to foreigners in Vietnam
To be eligible for a temporary residence card in Vietnam, foreigners must meet the following conditions:
- Passport valid for at least 13 months (In case the passport is valid for 13 months, the Immigration Department will issue a temporary residence card with a maximum validity of 12 months).
- Foreigners must complete temporary residence registration procedures at the commune or ward police according to regulations.
The following subjects will not be eligible for a temporary residence card in Vietnam:
- Currently being prosecuted for criminal liability or being a defendant in civil, economic, or labor disputes;
- Currently serving a criminal sentence;
- Currently serving a civil or economic sentence;
- Currently serving a decision on administrative sanctions, paying taxes, and other financial obligations.
